Stanford is in the midst of a rough season, sitting at 1-4 after four straight losses.
The offense simply can’t keep up with the Pac-12′s elite this season, and with a struggling defense, the problems are compounding for the Cardinal.
They’ve scored over 30 points just once and have managed 16 points against their ranked opponents — losses to USC and Oregon.
Both Ashton Daniels and Justin Lamson have spent time under center, but they’ve combined for 974 passing yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. Those numbers will need to drastically improve against Colorado if they want to walk out of Boulder with a win.
The Buffaloes on the other hand have had offense to spare.
Star QB Shadeur Sanders eclipsed the 2,000 passing yard mark last week and has 16 touchdowns to just two interceptions. He may also have his top target back on Friday, as Travis Hunter could make his return to the field after missing the last three games.
The Buffs stumbled against Oregon and USC the past month but got back on track last week with a big road win against Arizona State, and they’ll look to carry that momentum into Friday’s game.
