Colorado snapped a two-game losing streak last week with a tight win over Arizona State, and a Friday night clash with Stanford is on deck for the Buffaloes in Week 7.

Colorado’s victory against the Sun Devils moves the Buffs to 4-2, with setbacks to No. 10 Oregon and No. 8 USC. Outside of a 193-yard rushing performance vs. USC, Colorado’s offense continues to be overly reliant on Shedeur Sanders, as the second-highest single-game rushing total on the year was 70 yards vs. Colorado State.

Colorado will get a boost on both sides of the ball thanks to the likely return of Travis Hunter. The two-way star has been sidelined with an injury for three games, but Deion told the media that Hunter is medically cleared to take the field.

Stanford started the year on a high note, notching a Week 1 win over Hawaii. Since then, the Cardinal has been abysmal, with four straight losses, including a setback vs. FCS Sacramento State.

Stanford vs. Colorado features three sons of NFL Hall of Famers, with Shedeur and Shilo Sanders suiting up for the Buffs. E.J. Smith has 160 rushing yards for Stanford and is the son of Emmitt Smith, the NFL’s all-time leading rusher.

Hunter will provide a significant boost for the Buffs defensively, as Colorado’s 34 points allowed per game is second-worst in the Pac-12. Stanford is the only defense in the conference giving up more points per contest.

Besides the matchup with Colorado State, this will be Colorado’s easiest matchup of the season. The Cardinal is second-to-last in passing in the Pac-12 and is middle of the pack in rushing.

Stanford will struggle to keep up with Shedeur and Co. on Friday night in Boulder, while Hunter and Colorado’s defense build off a solid showing in Week 6.

Colorado’s top pass catcher had a dominant start to the year, averaging 115 yards in his first four games. In the Buffaloes’ previous two matchups, Shedeur has spread the love around, leaving Xavier Weaver with only 46 total yards.

Expect more of the same vs. Stanford, especially with Hunter back in the fold. Omarion Miller and Jimmy Horn have stepped up as viable playmaking options in the passing game.
