BetMGM code MLIVEMGM: $1,500 when betting on the Lions

The Lions head into Week 14 with a 9-3 record and the third spot in the NFC playoff standings. This week, it’s another divisional matchup for the Lions, who are 6-2 in conference play. They’ll travel to Chicago to play the 4-8 Chicago Bears, whose record sinks to 3-5 in the NFC.

The Lions are favored on sportsbooks, but by a narrower margin than you might expect, thanks in large part to some injuries and their poor performance against the Green Bay Packers in Week 12.

Here are the odds on BetMGM Sportsbook.

The Lions stumbled a bit in Week 12 with a loss to division rivals, the 6-6 Green Bay Packers. They looked better last Sunday, but the Saints crawled back into the game late. Nonetheless, the Lions are 9-3 for the first time since 1962.

That record is good enough to place them third in the NFC, just behind the San Francisco 49ers, who are also 9-3. The tiebreaker is the 49ers’ conference record, which is at 7-1 compared to the Lions 6-2. They have a chance to increase that conference record in a game against the Chicago Bears.

In last Sunday’s game in the Superdome, the Lions came out roaring, with 21 points in the first quarter, thanks to touchdowns by David Montgomery, Sam LaPorta and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Plus, an interception by rookie Brian Branch. Jared Goff ended the day going 16-for-25 with 213 yards and two touchdowns.

The Saints put up a fight in the final two quarters, but not enough to overcome the deficit and the Lions won 33-28.

It would be Chicago’s first back-to-back victories all season. Last week, the Bears played the 6-5 Minnesota Vikings in a disappointing Monday Night Football game that ended 12-10. The Bears’ win put Minnesota down to an even 6-6 and sixth in the NFC.

The Bears are standing at a 4-8 record. It’s been a bad season for the Bears. However, they enter Week 14 off their bye week, extra rested and playing with home-field advantage.

Plus, Chicago has the added impetus of seeing this as a revenge match against Detroit. In their Week 11 matchup, the Bears looked like they were going to win. They were up six points in the fourth quarter only to eventually lose the game 31-26.

Oddsmakers think this will be close, but the Lions are still a dominant team despite a few hiccups. The Lions have performed better on the road than they are at home, going 5-1. We’re like the Lions to cover this short spread on Sunday.
