Betting the Arlington Million on a Budget
Thirteen horses will enter the gate in Saturday's Arlington Million at Arlington Park. Chad Brown trainees Big Blue Kitten and Slumber are the likely favorites. The Pizza Man steps up to Grade 1 company in the Arlington million.
Big Blue Kitten won the United Nations Stakes at Monmouth. The Pizza Man has yet to run at the 1 1/16 and 1 ½ mile distance. Florent Geroux had a breakthrough performance with Illinois-bred Work All Week in the Breeders’ Cup. Roger Brueggemann has targeted 1 and 2 miles distances for his horses.
#11 Maverick Wave is a jockey-trainer tandem of William Buick and John Gosden. The horse has been training well on the Arlington grounds since shipping over from England. Maverik Wave has had a layoff since May of this year.
