There is a boom in turf racing in North America. More European horses are coming to compete here. There are more North American owners buying Irish and British bred horses. Top trainers in the U.S. are Chad Brown and Graham Motion. Other trainers are Phil D’Amato, Christophe Clement, Brendan Walsh and Mark Glatt.
Gulfstream Park has two top races on Monday. Fair Grounds has 2 turf stakes on the card. Santa Anita Classic Meet has 6 turf races out of 11 on its card, including a Grade I and two Grade II. Phil D’Amato has several turf runners on his opening day card at Fair grounds. Santa Monica Classic meet has six turf race on opening card out 11. The first race is the Grade 2 Mathis Mile on turf at one mile. It has three imports from Ireland. There are also two Irish starters and 2 AEs. In the second race there are two of twelve runners from Irish.
The Caesars Turf Triple Series is the third edition of the New York Racing Association's Turfing Specials. The first edition took place in 2019 at Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course. This year's edition for three-year-olds kicks off with the Grade 1, $1 million Caeresars Belmonter Derby Invitational. It continues with $700,000 Saratsog Oaks at Saratin Racecourse.
Belmont has two turf courses. Santa Anita brought back the Camino Real Hillside Turf Course in the fall of 2021. Laurel Park has a turf course area 142 feet wide. Woodbine has the E.P. Taylor Turfing Course named after the track's founder.
