Form points to another Napoli win

Napoli have emerged as one of the best teams in Europe this season and are on course to win Serie A for the first time since Diego Maradona inspired them to the title in 1990.

Luciano Spalletti’s side are 15 points clear at the top of the table and have won 25 of their 30 games across all competitions this season.

Eintracht Frankfurt, who won the Europa League last season, are competing in the Champions League for the first time since reaching the 1960 European Cup final.

The German side are sixth in the Bundesliga and finished second in their Champions League group behind Tottenham Hotspur to reach this stage.

With Napoli looking unstoppable at the moment, it is likely they will be able to brush Frankfurt aside away from home.

Osimhen the finished article

Napoli owe a lot of their success this season to Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, who has scored 19 goals in 23 games across all competitions but has yet to make his mark in the Champions League.

Because of injury and squad rotation, Osimhen only started two of Napoli’s group games – both against Liverpool. He scored in the first of those and, having netted four times five in five Europa League games last season, will be desperate to show he can do it in the Champions League.

Frankfurt conceded eight goals in their six group games – only RB Leipzig with nine let in more of the teams to qualify for the knockout stages – so we are backing Osimhen to score at any time here.

Frankfurt to draw a blank

It is not just Osimhen’s goals that have carried Napoli this season, they have been equally impressive at the back. The Italian giants have kept clean sheets in three of their previous four games and in two of their six Champions League group games.

Frankfurt do not possess too much of a threat going forward, drawing a blank in two of their group games.
