Big Ten Football Betting Preview Week 4

Big Ten Conference play resumes with four massive conference matchups on Saturday. The slate runs a little smaller than the past few weeks. There will be all 14 teams in action next week with seven head-to-head matchups.

Central Michigan is a favorite of 61.5 points against Penn State. The Nittany Lions beat Auburn 41-12 last week. Central Michigan allowed 58 points to Oklahoma State and 38 to South Alabama. The game is scheduled for 11:00 am CST. It is the biggest spread on Saturday's Big Ten slate.

Maryland plays Michigan in a Big Ten game. The team that won the game in 2021 finished 3-6 in conference play. In that team's six losses, the closest margin of defeat was 17 points. I predict a 45-20 drubbing for Michigan. The game starts at 11:00 am CST. O/U is 64.5. It's a toss-up. They play each other. Michigan has won all three games. Maryland has a lot of talent and can score points, but they don't have the size and physicality to match with the higher level teams in the Big League.

Minnesota Gophers are a home underdog against Michigan State. The Gopher team is very good despite a season-ending injury to Chris Autman-Bell. Michigan is 2-1 and outside the AP Top 25. Mohamed Ibrahim returns this season after missing the majority of the 2021 campaign. Ibrahim has ran for 464 yards, averaging 6.9 yards per carry, and scoring seven touchdowns in three games in 2022. The Golden Gores should win 31-20. They have a good chance to do so because of their schedule.

Indiana plays Cincinnati at 2:30 pm CST. The game is a toss-up. I'm interested in monitoring the game and the line movement up until game time.

Iowa is a favorite at Rutgers. The game is scheduled for 6 pm CST. Rutgers is 3-0 and is 18.5 points favorites. The Scarlet Knights have beaten Boston College, Wagner and Temple. Iowa's defense is the best bet.

Wisconsin is playing at Ohio State in Big Ten Football Betting Preview Week 4. The last two meetings between these two teams saw 34-21 and 38-7 victories for the Buckeyes.

FAU is playing Purdue at 6:30 pm CST. FAU has a better chance of winning than Purdue. Purdue has games against Minnesota and Maryland next week.

Miami Ohio is favored by 7.5 points at Northwestern. Northwestern has lost two games in a row. The team total is higher than 28. Northwestern should cover the 7-5 point spread.
