Big Ten picks: MLive’s predictions for Michigan-Iowa, Michigan State-Maryland

All five of MLive's pickers were below .500 in the nine games they selected last week. Aaron McMann and Andrew Kahn were the best at 4-5. Michigan State beat, while Michigan and Maryland went 2-7.

The Big Ten schedule is getting interesting. Illinois is one win away from being undefeated. Wisconsin is coming off a 31-point victory at Ohio State.

Minnesota beat Michigan State last week. The Gophers have outscored their three FBS opponents 121-14. Purdue's three games have been decided by a total of nine points.

Penn State is the favorite at 25.5 points against Northwestern. Northwestern has lost three straight games. Penn State has started the season 4-0.

Penn State is at home against Ohio State at 3:30 p.m. C.J. Stroud is playing well for Ohio. Rutgers turned to Aaron Simon at quarterback last week.

Nebraska is looking for their first FBS win in nearly a year. Indiana is 3-1 but has two close wins over lower-tier teams, an FCS win and just got trucked by Cincinnati.

Maryland beat Michigan last week but quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa was injured late in the game. He's 100 percent fit for Saturday's game against Michigan State. The Spartans have a lot of injuries and problems on the defensive side.
