With the college football season approaching, there's plenty of attention on Michigan, Ohio State and other Big Ten titans. Ahead of the season, let's take a look at our favorite 2023 Big Ten win total odds.

Big 10 Win total odds: Best bets for Ohio State, Michigan

Now let’s dive into our 2023 Big Ten win total picks for Ohio State, Michigan and more.

2023 Ohio State win total odds: Over 10.5 (-118 or better)

The Buckeyes will have three weeks to break in their new quarterback, Kyle McCord, before things get real with a Week 4 visit to Notre Dame on Sept 23. After the Irish, Ohio State’s season comes down to three contests: home vs. Penn State, at Wisconsin and at Michigan to close the regular season. It won’t be easy, but we’re betting the supremely talented Ohio State Buckeyes drop no more than one regular-season game and hit the over in 2023.

2023 Michigan win total odds: Over 10.5 (-146 or better)

The two-time defending conference champions boast one of the easier schedules in the Big Ten and return three potential Heisman contenders in quarterback J.J. McCarthy and running backs Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards. It should be smooth sailing to the over for Michigan football on its way to a potential return to the College Football Playoff. The only real games of concern are at Penn State on Nov. 11 and at home against the rival Buckeyes, who they’ve beaten two straight seasons.

2023 Big Ten win total odds: Illinois over 6 wins (-120 or better)

The Fighting Illini surprised with eight wins a season ago and should be primed for a return bowl trip in 2023 under third-year coach Bret Bielema. Defensive linemen Jer’Zhan Newton and Keith Randolph should keep the Illini defense among the nation’s best in 2023. The Illini offense will depend largely on the play of new quarterback Luke Altmyer, an Ole Miss transfer. Illinois avoids Michigan and Ohio State, making its path to the over manageable. Early season tests at Kansas and at home against Penn State will tell us a lot about the 2023 Illini.

2023 Big Ten win total best bets: Iowa under 8.5 wins (-120 or better)

The Hawkeyes have one of the easiest schedules in the Big Ten, but it’s hard to overlook an anemic offense that averaged a Big Ten-worst 251.6 yards per game last season. Offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz returns to attempt to fix his own mess, and he’ll have help from Michigan transfer quarterback Cade McNamara. Another terrific Hawkeye defense will keep Iowa in pretty much every game, however. While eight wins with this schedule seems very doable, we’re not betting on this being a nine-win Iowa team in 2023.

2023 Nebraska win total odds: Under 6 wins (+114 or better)

Matt Rhule is a proven program builder, but first-year success was elusive in previous stops at Temple and Baylor for the new coach in Lincoln. The hope is that transfer quarterback Jeff Sims and a strong run game led by returning leading rusher Anthony Grant can lift the Cornhuskers to bowl eligibility in 2023. But after six consecutive losing seasons, even with a favorable schedule, it is hard to see the Huskers going beyond their win total of six in Rhule’s first season.

2023 Big Ten odds: Wisconsin over 8.5 wins (+117 or better)

Another first-year coach, Luke Fickell, brings a new offensive identity to Madison which will more heavily feature the passing game. SMU quarterback Tanner Mordecai transferred in to lead the new-look Badgers air raid offense under the direction of offensive coordinator Phil Longo. Wisconsin Badgers football also has eight starters returning on defense, making the Badgers a strong bet to finish atop the Big Test West division and exceed their 8.5 win total in 2023.
