Birmingham vs. Garfield: Open Division CIF LA City Section football championship preview

Birmingham will take on Garfield in the LA City Section Open Division championship game on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Birmingham won the West Valley League with a 5-0 record. The Patriots have won 26 games in a row against City opponents. Garfield went 6-1 in the Eastern League and 10-2 overall. They will play Birmingham in Open Division CIF LA City Section football championship.  Garfield beat Franklin 50-29 and Eagle Rock 38-20 to reach the title game.

Birmingham and Garfield are playing in the Open Division CIF LA City Section football championship on Saturday. Peyton Waters is the best player on the field for Birmingham. Garfield has Damian Cornejo, Jayden Barnes, Damian Cabrera and Juju Zamudio. For Birmingham, Kingston Tisdell is starting quarterback. He has a lot of talented players. The Patriots have a very talented kicker. They have freshman Ronnell Hewitt and Jacy Oliva.

Garfield is an underdog in this game. Slowing down Waters and keeping Acosta quiet is a must for the Garfield defense.
