Blue Jays catcher options for 2023
The Blue Jays have three young catchers. They are interested in trading one of them for a big-money player. The Blue Jay's catching has been interesting to other teams for years. The team is in control here. It's fun to think about all three of the catcher on the team. There are three different caters, but they are all good starting points.
Danny Jansen has two years remaining on his contract with the Blue Jays. He has hit 15 home runs and had an .855 OPS in 72 games. Jansen is a good trade option because of his experience and ability to manage pitchers.
Alejandro Kirk is a catcher with four years remaining on his contract. He has made strides defensively and his bat fits in any lineup.
Gabriel Moreno, Ken Griffen Jansen and Kirk are Blue Jays catcher options for 2023. Moreno has the upside of a perennial All-Star, but his power dipped last season. Janson is the most likely to be traded this winter. The Blue Jay need to improve their team by next postseason. The team may make a move along the way. It's not out of the question for the Blue Jays to carry all three catchers into the season and make another move later.
