Blue Jays same-game parlay predictions vs. Athletics Sept. 4: Bet on Toronto, Springer

The Toronto Blue Jays stay on the road for a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics.

The pregame narrative: Toronto opens this series as a significant favourite against Oakland and it's our pick to win on Monday. We're teasing the total down to a palatable number and are taking the over. Lastly, George Springer is heating up and finds himself in a nice spot to record a hit.

Blue Jays vs. Athletics same-game parlay picks

Parlay: Blue Jays moneyline + Over 6.5 runs + Springer over 0.5 hits (+150)

Blue Jays moneyline (-195): Despite the Los Angeles Angels making it look difficult over the weekend, beating Oakland is, in fact, a rather simple task.

Only one team, the Kansas City Royals (96), has managed to lose more games than the Athletics (95). They had lost four of five before their series sweep over Los Angeles and we're highly skeptical this is the start of a strong run to close out the season.

Toronto will have the pitching edge over Oakland in this game, too. Jose Berrios takes the mound for the Blue Jays and he takes a solid 3.70 ERA into Monday's contest.

The A's send Ken Waldichuk to the bump and he hasn't been very good in 2023. The lefty pairs a brutal 5.92 ERA with a poor 5.52 FIP and the team is 11-19 in his appearances this year.

Other parlay picks

Over 6.5 runs (-295): Secondly, we're teasing the total down to a very reasonable mark and taking the over.

This pick has a lot to do with Waldichuk. With numbers like his, it's no surprise to know that there have been seven-plus runs scored in five of his last six outings.

Even though Berrios is enjoying a bounce-back campaign, the over on this total has come through in seven of his last 10 starts.

Springer over 0.5 hits (-265): Toronto's offence is heating up and while no player is solely responsible for this surge, Springer is playing a large part.

The Blue Jays outfielder is batting .302 since the start of August, producing 32 hits in 28 games. He has failed to record a knock in only seven games during this stretch and has seen his average increase by 14 points (.246 to .260).

Waldichuk is giving up plenty of contact this year. Opposing hitters are batting .280 against him and he owns a third-percentile pitching run value mark per Baseball Savant.
