Blue Jays same-game parlay predictions vs. Red Sox Sept. 17: Bet on Toronto and Springer

The Toronto Blue Jays are back in a playoff spot and looking for a third consecutive win over the Boston Red Sox.

The pregame narrative: We're stopping short of calling for a sweep, but Toronto finds its way onto our ticket. The total for Sunday's contest is sitting at eight, and we're teasing it down and taking the over. Thirdly, George Springer is entering a matchup he's dominated and is a nice choice to record a hit.

Blue Jays vs. Red Sox same-game parlay picks

Parlay: Blue Jays +1.5 + Over 6.5 runs + Springer over 0.5 hits (+160)

Blue Jays +1.5 (-275): Toronto has earned a pair of tight wins over Boston, and another close game should be expected on Sunday.

The Blue Jays have actually covered this mark in seven consecutive games against the Red Sox despite starting this season 0-7 straight up against their divisional foe.

Boston sends Nick Pivetta to the bump, and the team hasn't been winning by multiple runs very often with him starting. The team has failed to cover this wager in eight of his last 10 starts.

Conversely, Toronto has been very good as a run line underdog with Hyun Jin Ryu on the mound. The squad has covered this line in five of his last seven outings.

Other parlay picks

Over 6.5 runs (-250): The total for this game is sitting at a low mark of eight, which is a nice spot for teasing down and taking the over.

That's especially true with Pivetta starting. The Canadian hurler pairs a 4.56 ERA with a 4.28 FIP and has allowed three-plus runs in six of his last 10 outings.

The over on this total has cashed in 26 of his 35 appearances this year.

Even though Ryu owns a 2.93 ERA, the over on this number has come through in seven of his eight starts in 2023.

Springer over 0.5 hits (-275): Springer's recent work isn't encouraging but his matchup is.

The Blue Jays outfielder started September going 15-for-43 at the plate, good for a .349 average. That number has come crashing down, however, as he's gone 0-for-16 across his last four games.

But Springer's chances of bouncing back are pretty good against Pivetta. He has nine hits in 24 at-bats against the Boston righty, including two doubles and a home run.

Springer also serves as Toronto's lead-off hitter, which ensures us that'll he see more plate appearances than any other player on the Blue Jays.
