B/R CFB Community: Bold Predictions for the College Football Playoff

The College Football Playoff is almost here. Alabama will play Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl on New Year's Eve. Michigan will face Georgia in Orange Bowl. The winners of these two games will go for the national championship on January 10 in Indianapolis. Bleacher Report readers predicted the games they think will be surprising.

Michigan is a 6.5-point underdog against Georgia. The Wolverines are expected to put up 250 rushing yards. Georgia allowed 150-plus rushing yard just one time this season. Michigan has rushed for 250 or more yards five times this year.  Only four teams reached 100 total rushingyards against the Bulldogs.

Cincinnati is a +1600 favorite to win the national championship. Cincinnati and Michigan are playing in the championship game. Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has spent seven years trying to conquer college football. He has won the last two national championships. The Bearcats are a two-touchdown underdog. They beat the Crimson Tide in a semifinal game earlier this week.

B/R CFB Community suggests that Alabama will win the College Football Playoff. The Crimson Tide should have lost at Auburn, but they won and beat Georgia the following week. If Alabama beats Cincinnati and follows it up with a double-digit win over Georgia or Michigan, it will be Nick Saban's greatest coaching accomplishment ever.

The College Football Playoff management committee had to announce contingency plans if one or more teams are impacted by positive tests. The committee is prepared for whatever happens. The national championship could be vacated if both teams can't play. It could also be a forfeit if only one team is impacted. We want the games to go off cleanly and the season to end on a high note.

The College Football Playoff championship game will be played between Alabama and Georgia. The first game was watched by a lot of people. It was played in six weeks. People don't necessarily love a rematch in any sport. Last season's national championship between Ohio State and Alabama received lower ratings than the previous year's game. The game between Georgia and the Crimson Tide was one of the most watched football games of 2021.
