Brewers add former Astros top prospect Jon Singleton to 40-man roster

Brewers add former Astros top prospect Jon Singleton to 40-man roster. He was once one of the best prospects in the game. Sington struggled in his two seasons in MLB and was demoted to Class AAA. In 2018, MLB handed him a 100-game suspension for a third failed drug test. He had previously been suspended twice for marijuana use.

Jon Singleton was released by Houston in May. He played for Diablos Rojos del México in 2021. Sington played in AAA Nashville Sounds last year. His contract with the Brewers has been elevated to a major-league deal.  

Jon Singleton was signed by the Brewers. He is out of minor-league options. Singleton and incumbent first baseman Rowdy Tellez play left-handed. The incumbent plays defense. Arnold believes the two players complement each other.
