Brighton vs. Man Utd Odds, Predictions & Betting Tips

Man Utd's hopes of a treble were put to bed in the Europa League by Sevilla, however they are still in with a shot of winning the domestic cup double.

The League Cup winners return to Wembley on Sunday (BBC 1) where they face an in-form Brighton looking to reach only the second FA Cup Final in their entire history.

Tipster Wizard has his say on proceedings...

Roberto De Zerbi’s men are having an incredible season, sitting 7th in the Premier League table with 49 points having played two games less than two of the teams above them.

They qualified for the semi-finals after thrashing lower league Grimsby Town 5-0 in the quarters and considering their form, the bookies have them as the favourites to progress against Manchester United, a feat they have never managed to achieve in their history in this competition.

As for ten Hag’s men, it has been a brutal week as two of their best defenders Varane and Martinez were ruled out for the rest of the season and they were knocked out of the Europa League by Sevilla on Thursday.

Despite their troubles, Manchester United will take confidence from the fact that they haven’t lost to Brighton in five FA Cup matches and in a cup knockout game like this, form can go out of the window. Brighton have already completed a league double over United this season so there is no reason to believe that they can’t get another win here.

Team News:

Adam Lallana, Tariq Lamptey, Jeremy Sarmiento, Evan Ferguson & Joel Veltman are out for Brighton while Jason Steele is doubtful.

Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Van de Beek, Phil Jones, Garnacho, Tom Heaton & Harry Maguire are out for Manchester United while McTominay & Martial are doubtful.

Brighton vs Man Utd Tips

- Match result will be Brighton or Draw

- Over 0 cards in the match for Man United

- Kaoru Mitoma Over 0.5 shots in the match

- Antony Over 0.5 shots in the match

Brighton have lost just one game in their last nine in all competitions. Furthermore that defeat came against Tottenham in a game they didn’t really deserve to lose.

They come off the back of an impressive 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge and will be full of confidence going into this semi-final. Brighton will also have the advantage of seven days of rest compared to Manchester United’s three days as ten Hag’s men were beaten comprehensively by Sevilla in the second leg of the Europa League quarter finals.

The traveling and injuries means it will be a tough ask for them to go up against Brighton and so I expect De Zerbi’s men to not lose this game inside 90 minutes.

As for the next selection, there will be tired legs in that Manchester United camp which will force them into making cynical fouls throughout the game so just one card for them looks like a banker here.

Mitoma has had at least one shot in 15 of his last 16 appearances for Brighton. Antony has had at least one shot in 28 of his last 29 starts for United, as well as in every cup game he has played (5/5). Combining these four selections gives us a solid bet builder @ 9/10.

Solly March Over 0.5 Assists

Solly March is averaging 2 key passes per game for Brighton this season and leads the assists charts for them with seven for his club. In recent weeks, he has been a major creative threat, registering three assists in his last four Premier League games. 4/1 just looks too big a price for him to register another assist against a makeshift United defence.
