Dominik Dubovci, a hockey reporter in Czech Republic, reported that Krejci is considering returning to Prague once again and included quotes from the center, which were translated to English by Google.

“It’s all mixed up in my head. The main attraction is definitely the world championship in Prague. On the other hand, other things prevail, injuries and health,” Krejci said. “This is how I have it on the scales, up and down.”

If Krejci were to return to the Bruins and they make the playoffs next year, he wouldn’t be able to play in the World Championship.

Bruins general manager Don Sweeney and president Cam Neely are operating under the assumption both Krejci and Patrice Bergeron won’t return next year. They’re respecting the time and space the NHL veterans need to decide what comes next, but Krejci revealed to Czech reporters, including Dubovci, that he’s in no hurry to make a decision.

“I’m not in a hurry anymore. 99% I won’t start the season anywhere, neither in the Czech Republic nor elsewhere in Europe,” Krejci said, as translated by Google. “If it takes me until Christmas? So be it.

“We’ll see. I’m still thinking. After the season, I thought it would be pretty quick. But with the passage of time... You can’t make a decision so quickly,” he continued. “It’s my life — I’ve been playing hockey since I was four years old and I don’t want to make any hasty decisions. Even if it takes another week, a month, a few months...”

The longtime NHL center left the Bruins after the 2020-21 season for the Czech league before returning for the 2022-23 campaign. Krejci potted 16 goals and added 40 assists in 70 games for Boston.

NHL free agency officially opens July 1, but it sounds like Krejci will weigh every option before making a decision on his future.
