Bucks vs Pacers Picks, Predictions & Odds Tonight

Damian Lillard has scored 30+ points in two of his last three games and is fresh off a 34-point night against the Pistons. Combine that with Indiana's awful defense and a 242-point total and you get the recipe for another productive night.

After a slow start to their campaign, the Milwaukee Bucks have turned things around with three straight wins and will look to make it four when they visit the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse tonight.

Damian Lillard has turned up the heat for Milwaukee with 25+ points in three of his last five outings, but he and the Bucks will have to keep up with a Pacers offense that’s scoring an NBA-leading 126 points per game.

It’s been a bit of an up-and-down start to his Milwaukee Bucks career, but Damian Lillard seems to be finding his groove after the first two weeks of the season, fresh off a 34-point performance against the Pistons with two 30-point outings in his last three games.

The point guard has had his best games when he’s combining a high-volume shooting approach with consistent drives to the paint and drawing free throws.

Lillard leads the NBA with 9.3 free throw makes and 10 free throw attempts per game, so that’s something he’ll look to continue to capitalize on against the Indiana Pacers.

Indiana ranks towards the bottom of the league in fouls per game (20.3) and has also been porous on the defensive end, allowing 121.3 points per contest (26th), so Lillard should have plenty of opportunity to get his shots off from the field while also getting to the charity stripe.

Lillard is still shooting just a bit below his career averages, finishing 40% from the field and just under 30% from three, but if he can rack up 10+ points from the free throw line like he’s done in each of his last three games, he should clear the Over on his scoring prop against this weak Pacers defense.

Indiana has been the NBA’s highest-scoring squad through the first two weeks of the season, averaging 126 points per game while scoring 125+ points in four of their five wins.

Things have been just as wild at the other end of the court where the Pacers are giving up 121 points per game, so expect another high-scoring battle.

Bucks vs Pacers spread and Over/Under analysis

Milwaukee opened as the slight road favorite with a 3.5-point edge while tonight’s total opened at 243.5 points. It should be a fun one regardless of what happens but I’m taking the Bucks on the moneyline as well as the Over.

The Bucks look to be finding their rhythm as they’ve picked up three straight wins to go along with two impressive victories during the first week of the season against the 76ers and Heat.

The Pacers have a similar record at 5-3 but outside of two wins over the Cavaliers, they’ve just been beating up on bottom-end teams like the Spurs and Jazz.

Milwaukee hasn’t been the tightest defensive team so far this year, ranking just ahead of Indiana with 119.4 points against per game, but the Bucks present an offensive challenge that the Pacers likely can’t handle.

The Pacers gave up a whopping 155 points to the Celtics last week and while I don’t expect that kind of blowout tonight, it gives you a picture of what could go wrong for Indiana.

Both teams have been playing high-scoring games to start the season, with Milwaukee cashing the Over in five of seven games and the Over going 7-1 in Indiana’s eight outings.

These clubs both rank in the Top 8 offensively and the Bottom 6 on the defensive end, so all the ingredients are there for a back-and-forth, high-scoring game.
