Can the Houston Rockets get off to a winning start in Orlando? Best Bet for Oct. 25

Each day, one of our experts will offer up a best bet (or two or three) that mobile sportsbooks are offering. It might be a traditional spread bet, a player prop or one of the various odds boosts that books offer.

Here is our best bet for Wednesday, Oct. 25:

TOP PLAY

The play: NBA, Houston Rockets +4 at Orlando Magic

The odds/bet: -110 ($33 to win $30)

The book: Caesars Sportsbook

Time/TV: 7:10 p.m. (NBA League Pass)

Our take: This is one matchup that viewers wouldn't have watched if you paid them a few years ago. Now, these are two of the most exciting, young teams in the NBA.

While Paulo Banchero and Co. turned some heads last season, they didn't do much to improve enough during the offseason. The Houston Rockets, on the other hand, added a lot of veteran depth to complement their young core.

Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks will make their official competitive debuts for the Rockets under new head coach Ime Udoka this evening. They will be eager to get off to a fast start against a very beatable Orlando Magic team.

You heard it here first, the Rockets are going to surprise some people this season, and that starts tonight. I'll back Houston to come in and at least cover the 4-point spread against a relatively inexperienced core on the other side of the court.

Tuesday's best bet: Los Angeles Lakers +5 at Denver Nuggets (LOST)

If a line or odds are minus, it considers the juice one must lay to place the bet. Ex: Team A is -160 on the money line, one would have to bet $160 to win $100 (or $16 to win $10). OR Team B is a 5-point favorite at -110, one would have to bet $110 to win $100 (or $11 to win $10.)

Conversely, on positive lines, if Team C is +140 on the money line, $100 would bring in $140 (or $10 to win $14).
