Huge Thursday Night Football favorite pick: Best Bet for Oct. 26

Each day, one of our experts will offer up a best bet (or two or three) that mobile sportsbooks are offering. It might be a traditional spread bet, a player prop or one of the various odds boosts that books offer.

Here is our best bet for Thursday, Oct. 26:

TOP PLAY

The play: NFL, Buffalo Bills -9 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The odds/bet: -110 ($33 to win $30)

The book: Caesars Sportsbook

Time/TV: 8:15 p.m. (Amazon Prime)

Our take: Look, I don’t know what’s wrong with the Bills except that something is not right with Josh Allen. Well, duh.

What I do know is I still don’t believe the Bucs are even mediocre, and this cannot be a good matchup for them. You can explain the Patriots' loss, because Bill Belichick is, well, Bill Belichick and the Patriots know the Bills as well as anyone.

However, Buffalo has won 11 of the past 13 interconference games it has played, and one of those losses was last year in a fluke against Minnesota, while the other one was an overtime loss to Tom Brady. Eight of those past 10 victories since the start of the 2021 season have been by 10 points or more.

I also like the under 43.5 simply because I think the Bills defense will have something to prove and could hold Tampa to under 10 points, as there could be some rain in Buffalo.

Wednesday's best bet: Houston Rockets +4 at Orlando Magic (LOST)

If a line or odds are minus, it considers the juice one must lay to place the bet. Ex: Team A is -160 on the money line, one would have to bet $160 to win $100 (or $16 to win $10). OR Team B is a 5-point favorite at -110, one would have to bet $110 to win $100 (or $11 to win $10.)

Conversely, on positive lines, if Team C is +140 on the money line, $100 would bring in $140 (or $10 to win $14).
