Canadian men's sprint team skates to bronze in Calgary
Canadian men's sprint team won bronze in the ISU World Cup at the Olympic Oval in Calgary on Friday. Christopher Fiola, Laurent Dubreuil and Antoine Gelinas-Beaulieu won the race. Gelinaus- beaulie thinks they have potential for a gold medal in February.
Canadian men's sprint team won bronze in Calgary. Poland won the event. Irene Schouten of the Netherlands won a World Cup race in the women's 5000 metres. Canada's Ivanie Blondin took bronze. Isabelle Weidemann was seventh. She will compete in six races. The event is not contested at the Winter Olympics. It's a team event and goes fast. For an individual sport, it's nice to have more team events. Canada will take part in 6 races this weekend. They will also take in 5 races last weekend, too. In the 5k race, Ivanies had a stumble and clipped himself.
