Capitals vs Senators Prediction

The Washington Capitals and Ottawa Senators face off on Wednesday in an NHL showdown at the Canadien Tire Centre.

Capitals Look to Build Off Last Win

The Capitals lost the first game of the season, but in the last game against the Calgary Flames they looked better. The Capitals fell behind 2-0 in the first period, but in the second period they scored two goals and that led to them forcing a shootout. They only scored one goal in the shootout, but that was enough for the victory. Matthew Phillips had a strong game finishing with a goal and an assist. In this game the Capitals are going to need to find a way to get the offense going here early.

Senators Offense Looks to Stay Hot

The Senators looked good in the last game against the Tampa Bay Lightning and they currently sit with a 2-1-0 record. In the last game the Senators scored five goals and they ended up winning by three. Brady Tkachuk had quite the game scoring two goals and  adding one assist. He had seven shots on goal and he’s going to need to have a big game again here. Joonas Korpisalo started in goal and he saved 22 of the 24 shots that he faced. The only loss came in the first game of the season against the Hurricanes and they were defeated 5-3 in that game.

Shane’s Free Pick

This total is too low. The Senators offense has been strong heading into this game but I am still not sold on their defense and they are going to really struggle again in this game to defend. The Capitals are going to get their offense going early here, and that is going to lead to this game going over the total. Back the over to cash here.

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
