Carlos Soler and Renato Sanches among PSG players who could leave this summer

L’Équipe report today that many at Paris Saint-Germain are playing for their futures in the Ligue 1 campaign run-in this spring ahead of what promises to be a busy summer window for the club, including the likes of Carlos Soler, Renato Sanches, Fabián Ruiz and Juan Bernat.

The club is under financial restrictions this summer – they have already been hit with an FFP fine and need to reduce their deficit over the next three years to avoid further sanctions. As a result, sporting advisor Luís Campos and manager Christophe Galtier will not hesitate to move on players to make amends for the failures of their first two transfer windows in the French capital, in the hopes of bringing in their number one targets this time round.

Soler, who found the net in the win against Brest on Saturday night, is among those who need to show they are a valuable member of the squad in the last 11 games of the season, where the team will have a record-breaking 11th Ligue 1 title to wrap up. For some, it could also be a case of putting themselves in the shop window to attract interest.

Striker Hugo Ekitike is also playing for his future, although Campos believes in the former Reims man’s potential, while the Portuguese director is also close to his compatriot Renato Sanches – although he may have to prove ruthless with them. Sergio Ramos’ prospective contract extension will also depend on his performance, not least with Milan Škriniar set to arrive.
