Champions League Gameweek 4 Predictions

  • Tuesday 7th November, TNT Sports 2, 20:00

Man City have maximum points at the halfway stage in Group G and it's challenging to back anything other than a convincing victory at hope to winless Young Boys this week.

Pep Guardiola's troops are on a four-game winning run, which includes a 3-1 win in Switzerland and 6-1 hammering of Bournemouth last weekend, and I'm expecting another high-scoring result on Tuesday.

Jack Kitson's Prediction: Man City 5-1 Young Boys

  • Tuesday 7th November, TNT Sports 1, 20:00

After a gripping 2-2 draw when these two sides met in Glasgow, expect Atletico Madrid to have things much more their own way now back on home turf.

Diego Simeone’s men are no stranger to chaotic games and that thriller at Celtic Park had a bit of everything, but with home advantage and quite frankly a far superior squad, Colchoneros should be able to brush the travelling Scots aside to make their group stage task look that bit easier.

Billy Grimshaw's Prediction: Atletico 3-0 Celtic

  • Wednesday 8th November, TNT Sports 1, 17:45

Dortmund edged out Newcastle at St. James' Park in a highly competitive affair on matchday 3, and we can envisage a repeat of that clash at Signal Iduna Park this week.

The Magpies have won just two of their last seven away matches, breaking a pretty rancid record with that 3-0 League Cup win over the struggling Manchester United.

BVB have mostly been low scorers at home, with three of their victories here coming by a 1-0 scoreline.

Injuries may cause Newcastle a little more friction in Germany than their last encounter, so that's why we fancy the hosts to have a slightly more comfortable evening score-wise than maybe the battle suggests.

Luke Hamilton's Prediction: Dortmund 2-0 Newcastle

  • Wednesday 8th November, TNT Sports 2, 20:00

Arsenal can confirm their place in the knockout stages of the tournament if results go their way on Wednesday.

The Gunners put in a mature performance in Andalusia two weeks ago and can complete a double of the Spanish side here.

Gabriel Jesus’ excellent scoring record in this competition continued with a goal against Sevilla meaning he now averages 0.81 goals per 90 across European competitions in his career. Arsenal have the quality to come out on top here and a home win looks likely.

Anthony Eadson's Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Sevilla

  • Wednesday 8th November, TNT Sports 1, 20:00

A must-win game is up next for Manchester United. If they want any chance of progressing further in the Champions League they will have to dispatch of Copenhagen in a comfortable manner here.

Their last meeting was anything but comfortable for the home side as it took some 90th-minute heroics from Andre Onana to deny Copenhagen from the spot to keep their UCL dream alive.

I expect this one to be incredibly cagey with Man Utd still not playing any decent football, however, when push comes to shove often the Red Devils turn up and they'll need to do precisely that here.

Steven McQuillan's Prediction: Copenhagen 0-1 Man Utd
