Championship players looking to take their Super League chances in 2023

Championship stars are looking to make their marks in the Super League in 2023. Luis Roberts and Nene Macdonald are both looking for a move to Headingley from Leigh. St Helens and Wakefield have also added to their squad from the Championship ahead of 20th season.

Luke Hooley joins Leeds on a two-year deal ahead of 2023. He played for Wakefield Bulldogs, scoring 30 tries and kicking 34 goals. Toby Warren joins Rhinos from York on four-years contract. Leon Ruan joins from Doncaster on three- years contract, also.

St Helens have signed Tee Ritson on a season-long loan. He follows Alex Walmsley and Joe Batchelor in joining St Helen from the Championship. Rit's best season was in 22nd season when he scored 33 tries in 31 games for Barrow.

Morgan Smith has signed a two-year deal with Wakefield. He has played for London Broncos and Warrington. Smith will compete with Mason Lino and Lee Gaskell for a starting spot in the halves in 2023.

Edwin Ipape was named Championship's Player of the Year. He impressed during his debut season in England and was later selected in Papua New Guinea's team that reached the quarter-finals of 2021 World Cup. John Asiata, Kai O'Donnell and Nathan Wilde are also looking to make their mark in the Super League.
