Chelsea 'interested in signing Neymar if PSG star demands transfer' but face battle with Spanish giants

CHELSEA are reportedly interested in a deal to bring Neymar to Stamford Bridge this summer.

However, the club will wait and see if the Brazilian is ready to demand a transfer away from PSG.

The Ligue 1 giants are preparing for a rebuild following the exit of Lionel Messi and the potential sale of Kylian Mbappe.

This would leave Neymar, 31, as the sole survivor of the club's MNM strike force.

He still has four years left on his contract at the Parc des Princes but this has not stopped speculation over his future.

According to Le Parisien, Neymar was intent on leaving the club this summer with a move back to Barcelona his preferred destination.

Neymar left the LaLiga outfit for a world record £198million deal back in 2017.

However, since the arrival of former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique at PSG, there is now the potential that he could opt to stay.

The pair worked together in Spain and won a historic treble in 2015.

If this does not happen, then Chelsea are believed to be interested in taking him on.

PSG are thought to be keen on the idea of shifting the attacker due to his season wages of £22m.

Moving Neymar would help the French club ease their fears over Financial Fair Play regulations.

It would also ease tensions with the fanbase as his house - along with Messi's - was targeted by ultras in May.

Neymar has not featured for PSG since February following an ankle injury that cut his season short.

Chelsea were linked with a move for Neymar in 2022, but instead opted to focus on other targets.

It is thought that PSG would be looking to make £59m from a potential sale of the Brazilian international.

He has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
