Chicago White Sox vs. Oakland Athletics Prediction 8-26-23 MLB Picks

The Oakland A’s and the Chicago White Sox meet in game three of their four-game MLB set from Guaranteed Rate Field on Saturday. The A’s have been dominant in the first two games of this series, can they make it three in a row? Let’s dive in and find out.

A’s Dominate on Friday

The Oakland A’s may have been the first team eliminated from postseason contention, but they haven’t been playing like it after picking up a 12-4 win in Friday’s matchup. The win pushed the A’s to 38-91 on the year but the A’s have been out of contention since the beginning of the season if we’re being honest. Brent Rooker leads the A’s with 22 home runs and 55 RBIs this season, while Esteury Ruiz has 92 hits, a .243 batting average and a team-best 49 stolen bases. Ryan Noda, Zack Gelof, JJ Bleday, Seth Brown and Shea Langeliers also have double-digit home runs for the A’s this season, while Ruiz also leads the A’s in doubles with 21. JP Sears will start for the A’s here and is 2-10 with a 4.61 ERA and 127 strikeouts this season.

Chris’ Pick

I’m sticking with the A’s in this one. If Toussaint was a better pitcher than he is, I could have an easier time justifying the White Sox being favored here, but at this price in the current matchup, no way. JP Sears despite some recent struggles, has been Oakland’s best shot at a win from starting pitching and more often than not he puts his team in a spot to succeed. I think the A’s have a great shot for another win here. Give me Oakland in this one.
