Over on the Reds’ side, they got two hits, a run and two RBI from TJ Friedl in their Monday victory. Christian Encarnacion-Strand and Joey Votto each had solo homers as well. On Tuesday Cincinnati had a tepid offensive evening on six team hits and really couldn’t get much going. TJ Friedl had the team’s one RBI. Stuart Fairchild and Kevin Newman each plated a run.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m going to try the Reds. We should have a fun starter matchup regardless, though. Ashcraft has five earned runs over his last 19.1 innings in three starts, posting 15 hits and six walks in that time. As for Cueto, he’s been consistent with 18.0 innings and seven earned over his last three starts, but he’s just 0-2 in that time. On Tuesday Cincinnati had a rough night at the plate. The Reds were flummoxed by the Miami bullpen (3.0 innings, no hits, no earned, one walk, five Ks), breaking their streak of nine straight games with three or more runs. I think Cincinnati will get it going again Wednesday to bag the win in both the game and the series.
