City Of Troy: Paddy Power betting specials for racing's new star

City Of Troy delivered one of the best juvenile performances in recent memory to land the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket last Saturday.

It was a run that prompted Paddy Power traders to price the Justify colt as the odds-on favourite to land next year’s 2000 Guineas and the emphatic market leader for the Derby at Epsom.

The dazzling display had connections purring while earning an Official Rating of 118 and a Racing Post Rating of 124 – just two points shy of Frankel’s effort in the 2010 Dewhurst.

Ballydoyle master Aidan O’Brien hailed City Of Troy as the “best two-year-old I’ve trained”, joint owner Michael Tabor called the horse “our Frankel”, while jockey Ryan Moore branded him “special”.

It has certainly whet the appetite for next year’s Flat season and our traders have priced up a couple of City Of Troy betting specials for 2024.

The latest horse racing odds are on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise prices for our City Of Troy specials can be seen via our snazzy widgets below.

City Of Troy To Win The 2000 Guineas & The Derby

Ballydoyle could opt to send City Of Troy straight to the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday, May 4 before taking aim at the Derby four weeks later.

Aidan O’Brien is the last trainer to have saddled a horse to the 2000 Guineas-Derby double when Camelot scored in 2012.

City Of Troy To Win The Triple Crown

The English Triple Crown – the 2000 Guineas, Derby and St Leger – is on the wish list for City Of Troy’s ownership and it is a feat that has not been achieved since Nijinsky in 1970.

It is, arguably, the third and final leg that could prove the most challenging due to the extended 14-furlong trip as well as the number of big races around the same time on the calendar including the Irish Champion Stakes and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Camelot fell agonisingly short in the St Leger when attempting to complete the Triple Crown. Can City Of Troy go one better?
