Cleveland Browns trade Baker Mayfield to Carolina Panthers for 2024 conditional NFL draft pick

Cleveland traded a quarterback to Houston for three first-round picks and a player accused of sexual assault. The deal ends the Mayfield era in Cleveland. Watson is accused in civil lawsuits by 25 women of actions ranging from sexual assaults to inappropriate behavior during massage sessions. If he is suspended, the Browns are expected to start Jacoby Brissett at quarterback.  Mayfield was the No. 1 pick in 2018 and finished second in the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year voting. He also had a left shoulder injury that plagued him throughout the 2021 season. May Baker played for four different head coaches in his first three seasons.
