Clutch? Resilient? Indispensable? AD Mitchell checks all those boxes and then some for Georgia

Georgia's AD Mitchell was the national championship hero last year. He had only 7 catches since then. Ladd McConkey hyped up Mitchell before the Peach Bowl. Mitchell played 15 snaps in the SEC Championship Game. He played the most since the season opener against Oregon. Georgia will play Ohio State in a playoff semifinal. The winner will face either Alabama or Penn State.

Mitchell scored a touchdown in the 4th quarter of Georgia's game against Stetson. Mitchell missed the Auburn game with an ankle injury. He played the highest percentage of offensive snaps among UGA receivers last year. He had touchdowns in both of the 2021 and 2022 Playoff games. Georgia would have preferred to have Mitchell healthy all year, but he was injured twice. The ankle sprain was not fully healed until the second game of October.

Mitchell played for Eddie Woods at Cane Ridge High School in Tennessee. He was an uncommitted senior and wanted to enroll in the summer, but instead he spent that time working out and getting offers. Eventually, Georgia offered him. Mitchell committed to the Dawgs in July. He will be an early enrollee in class of 2021. His snaps in 2022 are 36. They include: SEC Championship, Peach Bowl, Bye week, and injured ankle. The irony is that Mitchell got to Georgia in first place. After high school, Mitchell spent 3 years in Texas before moving to Tennessee and playing for Woods.
