College Football National Championship odds 2025: Early favorites, sleepers, values to win the national title

Congratulations to the Michigan Wolverines on claiming their tenth National Championship in school history and first in the CFP era to cap off the 2023-24 college football season. Although we're a ways away from Week 0 of the 2024-25 season, it's never too early to take a peek at next season's CFP title odds. DraftKings Sportsbook released its initial odds for the 2024 National Championship, and although the Wolverines aren't the betting favorites to reclaim the title, they're not too far off the front of the pack at +1000.

Despite their reign as back-to-back National Champions ending in 23-24, the Georgia Bulldogs sit atop the preseason futures board with +450 odds. Two other usual suspects, Alabama (+600) and Ohio State (+800), are the other top contenders.

Although plenty of savvy bettors will shape this futures market in the coming months, with countless players in the transfer portal still waiting to decide on their next school, it's increasingly difficult to get an edge at this juncture in the offseason. On the other hand, with 12 teams now a part of the revamped College Football Playoffs, the National Title race is as wide open as it's ever been.

For those wanting to put a futures bet down or two right now, there are a couple of schools catching our eyes with intriguing price tags. Ole Miss (+1600) ended the season on a strong note with its 38-25 win over Penn State in the Peach Bowl, and with QB Jaxson Dart returning for another season, the Rebels look like a legit contender in the SEC. Following former Duke QB Riley Leonard's commitment, Notre Dame (+2500) has a real shot to return to the CFP, giving bettors a chance to cash a 25-1 ticket on the Golden Domers.

If you're looking for even longer-shot futures with the playoff expanding to 12 teams, look no further than Missouri (+6000) and Arizona (+7000). The Tigers aim to build off their historic 11-2 season that culminated in a Cotton Bowl victory over Ohio State with a potential CFP berth. Arizona's late-season surge since switching to QB Noah Fifita gives Jedd Fisch's Wildcats a chance to run the table in as new members of the Big 12.

Again, with so many players still in the transfer portal and others potentially making their draft declarations, it's probably best to let this market settle before getting down on a futures bet. However, if there's a team at intriguing odds that you're really wanting to bet on, then by all means, try to get ahead of odds movement by snatching up a good price.

Here's a early snapshot of the current odds to win the 2025 college football National Championship via DraftKings Sportsbook.
