College football picks, schedule: Predictions against the spread, odds for top 25 games Saturday in Week 2

The second week of the college football season begins with a top-25 clash between Alabama and Texas. No. 24 Tennessee takes on No 17 Pittsburgh. In the evening, we'll see a game between No 12 Florida and No 20 Kentucky. No 10 USC travels to Stanford in search of its first Pac-12 win in the Lincoln Riley era. The game follows the team's impressive win over Rice. CBS Sports will provide live coverage of all the games on Saturday. It will start with the opening kickoff.

Texas is a team capable of moving the ball and putting up points against the Alabama defense. Texas had problems last season with the defense that allowed 31 points per game. The freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers is making his second career start.

Colorado and Air Force are playing on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The game is a big one, with an 18-point spread. Colorado will win.

Pittsburgh and Tennessee are playing each other on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. Last season, Pittsburgh won the game 41-34 at Tennessee. The Panthers scored plenty in their Week 1 victory over West Virginia.

Chip Patterson is going with the total hitting the under. Florida is probably going to win the game.

USC is the last unbeaten Pac-12 team remaining from the preseason AP Top 25. Stanford should be improved after a miserable 2021. The Trojans are favored by 9 points.
