Quinn Ewers’ Heisman Trophy odds are on the move after a stellar performance on the road at Alabama. Currently, at BetUS, Ewers has the fourth-shortest odds to win the Heisman Trophy. Ewers’ updated Heisman odds accelerated from +2200 to +1000.

Ewers suffered an SC sprain in his left shoulder in Texas’ second matchup of the season. He came back from the injury hesitant in his decision-making and accuracy concerns. However, on Saturday night, Ewers looked like the same player from the first half against Alabama last year.

The 20-year-old from San Antonio passed for 349 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. A 39-yard strike to former Georgia wide receiver AD Mitchell in the second half was the dagger for Texas. Mitchell ran free in the secondary and Ewers connected on the deep ball.
Combined with his start against Rice, Ewers enters Week 3 against Wyoming with 609 passing yards, six touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. Additionally, Ewers has completed 63.2 percent of his passes thus far in 2023.

Texas’ National Championship Odds Elevate
Ewers’ Heisman Trophy odds aren’t the only odds that skyrocketed after the big win. According to BetUS, Texas is +1000 to win the 2023-24 CFP National Championship.
Prior to beating Alabama, the Longhorns were +2500 to win the national title. Ewers and Texas’ betting odds have taken a similar path over the last week.

At +1000 odds, Ewers has a 9.1 percent implied probability of winning the Heisman Trophy. The same applies to Texas winning the college football championship.
Texas has NFL talent on both sides of the ball. While Ewers is attracting the spotlight, Texas’ defense, notably the defensive line, has to receive recognition.
If Texas is going to reach the 2023-24 College Football Playoff, the defense must continue to dominate the line of scrimmage. There are a couple of notable games left on Texas’ schedule.
On October 7, the Red River Shootout is scheduled to be played against Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. In November, Kansas State may prove to be a tricky assignment at home. First thing is first, though, Texas can’t have a letdown against a Wyoming team that recently beat Texas Tech.
Caleb Williams Remains Favorite To Win 2023-24 Heisman Trophy
There have been no changes at the top of the Heisman Trophy odds. Every online betting site has USC’s Caleb Williams listed as the top favorite. Currently, Williams has +400 odds to win the Heisman in December.
The Trojans’ offense has been flawless through three games. Williams has passed for 878 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He is coming off a three-touchdown performance in a 56-10 win over the Stanford Cardinal.
However, voter fatigue is still worth considering when betting on Williams. Also, if USC falters, Ewers and others will be ready to pounce on the opportunity.
In addition to Williams, Michael Penix Jr. (+900) and Jordan Travis (+800) are ahead of Ewers, at BetUS. That might be true now, but if Texas controls the Big 12 and reaches the College Football Playoff, Ewers will have shorter than +1000 odds.
