College Football Playoff Semifinal open thread

While Syracuse Orange fans dream of seeing Fran Brown bring the Orange to next year’s 12-team College Football Playoff, it’s time to close out this four-team edition.

First up is the #1 Michigan Wolverines against the #4 Alabama Crimson Tide. Kickoff is at 5:00 on ESPN. This game will take place in the Rose Bowl and somehow Jim Harbaugh has turned Nick Saban into the lovable coach in the matchup. Alabama needed a miracle to survive Auburn, then dominated Georgia. Michigan is undefeated, but have they beaten anybody good this year?

The nightcap is the Sugar Bowl between the #2 Washington Huskies and #3 Texas Longhorns. Texas is a slight favorite in this one and with the over/under set at 62 we could be in for an offensive display. Is Texas back? Will Washington prove they are the best Big 10 team? Should be a fun one for anyone fighting off the Holiday Scaries.

I’ve got Bama and Washington so that’s good news if you want Michigan-Texas in the title game. Who are you taking tonight?
