Typically once mid-July hits, college football recruiting slows down a bit before the NCAA dead period lifts at the end of the month. But that's not the case this week, as a large handful of four-star prospects are set to announce their commitments on the 247Sports YouTube channel.

Plenty of top Power Five programs are in the mix for the six players who will commit live on air. All are coveted prospects, and here's what you need to know about them before they announce this week.

4-star EDGE Anelu Lafaele — Tuesday, June 11, 6 p.m. ET

An interesting geographic battle has played out in Lafaele's recruitment with three relatively new coaching staffs vying for the talented pass rusher. Wisconsin and coach Luke Fickell hold the lead on the 247Sports Crystal Ball over fellow finalists Arizona State and Hawaii, which both received official visits.

The Honolulu native has given serious consideration to his hometown team under former Rainbow Warriors star quarterback Timmy Chang. Hawaii could make major waves nationally if it pulls off this upset.

4-star LB Kamar Mothudi — Tuesday, June 11, 7 p.m. ET

Another West Coast stud here will pick between staying closer to home and heading to the Big Ten. A trio of Pac-12 schools are in the mix here: Oregon, Utah and Washington. Meanwhile, Michigan State has made its pitch as well.

Oregon holds the lead right now on the 247Sports Crystal Ball as coach Dan Lanning hopes to add another big piece to his defense.

Composite 4-star LB Brian Huff — Wednesday, July 12, Time TBD

Arkansas generally is tough to beat within its own borders, but the Razorbacks have been in a dogfight against SEC rival Missouri for Huff — a Jonesboro (Ark.) Valley View standout — with UCF also in contention. Two of three 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions point toward Mizzou, with one still in favor of the Hogs.

Mizzou has done some strong work on defense lately, most notably landing four-star cornerback Cameron Keys. Huff rates as a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports evaluators, but holds a four-star rating in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Composite 4-star DL Jayden Jackson — Thursday, July 13, 5 p.m. ET on the College Football Recruiting Show

As usual, the big boys are fighting over an IMG Academy product. Jackson took official visits to Florida, Ohio State, Miami and Texas in order last month. This recruitment retains plenty of intrigue, as there are no 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for Jackson.

Jackson is a physical run defender at a listed 6-foot-2, 300 pounds. Oklahoma is also in the mix here, although the Sooners did not receive an official visit from Jackson.

4-star RB Braylen Russell — Friday, July 14, 7:45 p.m. ET

Another Arkansas product will pick between the Razorbacks and a couple of other SEC foes, as well as an old Southwest Conference opponent. It'll be the Hogs, South Carolina, Tennessee and Baylor for Russell with Arkansas holding the lead on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

Russell is a big tailback at 6-foot-1 and is a track and field star as well. He ran for 26 touchdowns and more than 1,600 yards last fall as a junior at Benton (Ark.) High.

4-star OL Preston Taumua — Saturday, July 15, 2 p.m. ET

Taumua is a talented O-lineman who is looking at programs from across the country. The Hawaii product took official visits to Arizona, Auburn, Nebraska and Oregon last month ahead of his decision.

Nebraska and new coach Matt Rhule hold the lead on the 247Sports Crystal Ball as of Monday afternoon with one prediction in their favor. Listed at 6-foot-4, 315 pounds, Taumua projects as an interior lineman at the next level rather than a tackle.
