College football Week 3 odds, schedule: Tennessee heads to Florida, Washington goes to Michigan State

After the first two weeks of the college football season featured primetime showdowns between big programs both expecting big years, Week 3 simply doesn’t have that. There are no games between top 25 teams this week and only a handful of games between Power 5 schools.

With that in mind, this week looks to be more about avoiding a big upset for some top 25 teams. The Washington Huskies head on the road to take on the Michigan State Spartans. MSU is dealing with the suspension of coach Mel Tucker while Washington is trying to build up its resume ahead of what looks to be a very good and deep Pac-12. The Huskies are favored by more than two touchdowns even though the Spartans are 2-0.

The first conferences games in the SEC are taking place on Saturday. The LSU Tigers travel to Mississippi State to hear the cowbells, the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs host the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Tennessee Volunteers pay the rival Florida Gators a visit. The SEC is looking down with a 3-6 record against Power 5 schools so far.

Meanwhile, the Deion Sanders show returns to Boulder when the Colorado Buffaloes take on the Colorado State Rams. Colorado is favored by three touchdowns in that one. The Buffaloes start conference play next week at the Oregon Ducks and host the USC Trojans the week after that. We’ll know a lot more about Deion’s team after that stretch ends.

Four games feature top 25 teams against FCS opponents. Odds for those games will be posted at sportsbooks later in the week. Here are the odds for every other game featuring an AP top 25 team this week, plus a few other notable matchups.
