Colorado Avalanche Sign Evan Rodrigues; An Early Scouting Report

Evan Rodrigues signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche worth $2 million. Rodrigue played for the Pittsburgh Penguins last season.

Colorado Avalanche signed forward Evan Rodrigues to a one-year contract for the 2022-23 season. Rodrigue set career highs in goals (19), assists (24), and points (43) this past season for Pittsburgh Penguins. He was the only Penguins player to skate in every game of the regular season and finished the campaign ranked sixth in points. The 29- year-old played two-plus seasons with the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League from 2015-18. Before turning pro, Rodrigus played four seasons of college hockey at Boston University, totaling 121 points in 146 games.

Rodrigues played 82 games for the Penguins last season. He played well as a second-line center. Rodrigues is a versatile player who can play all three forward positions. Colorado Avalanche will sign Rodrigue. The team will try to sign him in 2021-22.
