The Colorado Avalanche could not have expected the fight they are getting from the Kraken in this series and they are now one game from going from defending champs to first round exit. Colorado was up 2-1 in the series, but the Kraken won game four in overtime and then went to Denver and left with an impressive 3-2 win.

It was a scoreless first period in game five, but the Kraken got on the board first in the second. Colorado answered just 80 seconds later, but Seattle quickly answered that and led 2-1 after two. Seattle made it 3-1 early in the third and Colorado could not get both goals back.

Nathan MacKinnon and Evan Rodrigues both scored in the game five defeat. Four Avalanche players recorded an assist on the night.

Seattle are now just one game away from making franchise history and they will have the chance to do it in front of a rowdy home crowd. The Kraken went from one of the worst teams in the league last season to potentially winning their first ever playoff series.
