Colorado Buffaloes getting heavy betting action vs. Oregon

Everyone loves Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes, and it appears that the love won’t stop as massive underdogs to the Oregon Ducks.

The Ducks boast a 21-point spread over the Buffaloes, who will be without star-two-way player Travis Hunter thanks to a dirty hit he sustained against Colorado State.

“At 21, where the line currently sits, the spread is looking juicy [for bettors],” Kevin Lawler, Head of US Trading for PointsBet Sportsbook, told The Post. “Our expectation is that clients will bet this back down a couple of points, where we wouldn’t be surprised to see it going off 17 or 18 on Saturday.”

Sportsbooks were hammered by bets on Colorado in their first two weeks, with bettors winning big when they beat TCU outright as three-score underdogs and smashing Nebraska as slight three-point favorites.

Whether Colorado will actually be able to hang with Oregon is another question entirely, especially without Hunter.

“Oregon is a true championship contender, and the Buffs looked far from their best in the Rocky Mountain Showdown, but good teams step up when they need to, and the Buffs are 3-0 without putting a foot wrong so far this season. If the Buffs had covered the spread, or looked really good against CSU last Saturday night, this one could be sitting at 14 or 15 right now.”

Ticket prices in Colorado have been wildly expensive, with celebrities such as Lil Wayne, the Rock, and Kyle Lowry in the stands.

PointsBet Sportsbook is specifically feeling the excitement in the Rocky Mountains.

Betting on College Football?

“As a sportsbook headquartered in Colorado, PointsBet can feel the buzz of the current Buffs team, and there’s going to be a lot of hype around this match-up with Oregon this week. When the schedule came out prior to the season, this game stood out, along with the USC one next week, as two really tough tests.”

BetMGM reported to The Post on Tuesday that 64 percent of bets were on Colorado to cover, but 52 percent of the money is on Oregon.

This would point to some sharper, big-money action on Oregon while the public continues to pump the Buffaloes.
