Conor McGregor could win £1.2million from bet on Dillon Danis vs Logan Paul fight

Conor McGregor is set to pocket a seven-figure sum if his teammate Dillon Danis beats Logan Paul in their upcoming fight.

Bellator MMA fighter Danis is a longtime training partner of McGregor as the UFC legend first trained with him to prepare for his rematch against Nate Diaz in 2016. Danis has remained a staple of McGregor's training camps and the Irishman recently returned the favour by helping him train for his fight against Paul when they sparred in New York in July.

Danis and Paul came face-to-face during an intense interview ahead of their chaotic press conference last month in London. Paul tried to wind up Danis by mentioning the betting line for their fight and Danis responded by saying: "I don't care about the odds bro, it's good for me I'm going to make money. Conor put down £200k to win £1.2million."

Paul challenged McGregor to a $1million bet on the fight and has recently upped it to $2million, but the Irishman hasn't responded to the offer. "Conor, you know what? I'll tell you what Mr Moneybags, I'm going to make this more interesting for you, how about we double it? $2million says I beat your boy Dillon Danis. I know you're going to see this clip, you're coaching him and guiding him," he told the Flagrant podcast.

The YouTuber then asked Danis in their interview: "Why won't Conor take my bet, take my money if I'm a scumbag?" Paul came close to crossing a line by mentioning Danis' later father in the face-to-face, but quickly backtracked when pressed on the topic by insisting that he "empathises" with his rival.

Danis' fight against Paul on the Misfits Boxing 'Prime Card' marks his boxing debut and return to combat sports for the first time in over four years. Paul has agreed to rematch Danis, who withdrew from a fight against KSI in January, in MMA if he shows up to the fight on October 14.

"Dillon, check this out," Paul said during the interview. "You're obviously a s***bag, you're obviously a piece of s***, but I'll tell you what. If you show up to this fight October 14, I will rematch you in MMA." The pair then shook hands before Paul continued to attack Danis by calling him a "scumbag, piece of s*** dirty f***ing a******."
