Cricket: New-look Black Caps set to face toughest test against India

Tom Blundell is set to take over as fulltime test wicketkeeper for the Black Caps. He will start his full-time career against India in India. Blunell has played 11 tests as an opener, seven as a No 6. Devon Conway, Colin de Grandhomme and Trent Boult are unavailable. Kyle Jamieson deserves a chance for his first test in Asian conditions. Will Young is most likely to face the new ball with Tom Latham. Gary Stead indicated that Patel and Will Somerville will get the nod. Mitchell Santner could be added as third spin option.
