Cubs DFA Farrell, Activate Miley and Hermosillo, and More on Tuesday
The Chicago Cubs made several roster moves on Monday. Wade Miley is being activated from the 60-day injured list and will start on Tuesday. Luke Farrell is designated for assignment. The team also added OF Michael Hermosillo from 60 days to the 40-man roster and placed catcher Willson Contreras on the 10- day injured roster.
Luke Farrell was released by the Cubs on Tuesday. He played in four games this season and made two starts. The 31-year-old has a 4.09 ERA. He is not on the 40-man roster.
Michael Hermosillo has been limited to 17 games in 2022. He last played on May 7 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Nicholas Padilla was DFA'd to make room for Herosillo. Padillas played in one game for the Cubs this season, pitching 1.2 innings in the second game of the Cardinals-Cubs doubleheader on August 23.
The Cubs and Reds play three games starting on Tuesday. First pitch for Tuesday's and Wednesday's games is set for 6:40 p.m. CDT. Thursday's series finale will be a 1:20 p.,m., CDTs first pitch.
