Damian Lillard getting traded to Bucks completely fooled oddsmakers

Wednesday’s shocking trade that sent Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Milwaukee Bucks caught oddsmakers completely off-guard.

As of Wednesday morning, Lillard had +3000 odds at DraftKings to land in Milwaukee as his possible trade has dominated NBA discussions.

There were nine NBA teams ahead of the Bucks in the odds to land Lillard, including the Miami Heat, Portland Trail Blazers, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, San Antonio Spurs and even the Utah Jazz.

Needless to say, Lillard heading to join Giannis Antetokounmpo to contend for an NBA title was not on anyone’s radar ahead of Wednesday’s trade.

It’s not often that the oddsmakers are this far off the mark on guessing where a player might be traded, but you never how these things materialize.

The NBA regular season starts next week, and Bucks fans will now have Lillard to root for alongside Antetokounmpo this fall.

It’s an unexpected move and one that will surely send shockwaves throughout the league. Judging by these odds, nobody saw it coming.
