Flightline won the Breeders’ Cup Classic by 8 lengths. It was a record margin of victory for the Classic.
Blue Stripe finished second in the Distaff at Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar. Blue Strike won the G1 Clement Hirsch at the same venue.
Del Mar Derby winner Cody’s Wish won the Dirt Mile. Cody and Cyberknife were engaged in a long stretch long duel.
Cave Rock finished second in the Juvenile at the Breeders' Cup. He was the favorite. His trainer Bob Baffert expressed disappointment.
Del Mar well represented at Breeders’ Cup 2022. Taiba finished third in the Classic, Ce Ce fourth in Filly & Mare Sprint, And Tell Me Nolies eighth in Juvenile Fillies, Speed Boat Beach ninth in Turf Sprint and Comanche Country seventh in Jujitsu Fillie Turfi.
The main track at Del Mar was sealed Monday afternoon after the first day of training for the fall meet. The horses remained in their stalls Tuesday and Wednesday. DelMar will celebrate Veterans Day on Friday.
