The Detroit Red Wings (15-10-4) go on the road to play the Philadelphia Flyers (16-10-3) on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. Detroit is coming off a 2-1 home loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday while Philadelphia beat the Washington Capitals 4-3 at home on Thursday.

Red Wings In Wild Card Spot

Detroit is currently 15-10-4 and holding the first Wild Card spot but the Carolina Hurricanes, Tampa Bay Lightning, Washington Capitals, and New Jersey Devils are all right there. The Red Wings are currently 1-4 in their last five games with their lone win coming on Tuesday with a 6-4 win over the St. Louis Blues.

The Red Wings have one of the best offenses in the NHL this season, as Detroit is averaging 3.69 goals per game which ranks second. Their power play ranks 22.3% which ranks 13th while on the road is 7-5-1. Defensively, the Red Wings allow 3.24 goals per game which ranks 18th while their save percentage is .897 which ranks 20th in the NHL.

Detroit will be without Dylan Larkin, JT Compher, and Klim Kostin due to injury while David Perron is suspended.

Flyers Off To Surprising Start

Philadelphia was expected to miss the playoffs this season as many thought the Flyers would be rebuilding. However, Philadelphia is 16-10-3 and 5-1 in their last six games while being third in the Metro division. The Flyers are currently averaging 2.97 goals per game which ranks 22nd, but have been solid in keeping the pucks out of their net as Philadelphia is allowing just 2.72 goals per game which ranks eighth in the NHL.

The Flyers are set to play their second game at home and will then go on the road to play New Jersey. Philadelphia has been solid as of late with their lone loss in their last six games is a 3-2 overtime loss to the Nashville Predators.

Philadelphia will be without Noah Cates while Carter Hart is day-to-day.

Rating:

Philadelphia has been playing really good hockey while Detroit is dealing with some injuries to their forward group which will impact their offense. The Flyers have been playing sound defensively and in goal, and although the Red Wings have one of the better offenses in the NHL, but without Perron, Larkin, and Compher it will struggle here against Philadelphia. Although the Flyers are better on the road, this is a good spot with a depleted Red Wings offense.

Take the Flyers ML.

Prediction: Flyers ML

Rating:

The under is also the way to go in this game as the Red Wings will struggle with the key injuries and suspension, while Philadelphia plays very low-scoring games. This season, the Flyers are 17-12 in hitting the under this season and although the Red Wings are 12-17 in hitting the under, this team is much different without Larkin, Perron, and Compher. Although Detroit's goaltending has struggled at times, the Flyers' offense isn't the best which is why the under is the way to go here.

Take the under here.

Prediction: Under
