DFS Picks of the Week: Our top Underdog plays for college football and NFL, Dec. 1-3

DFS players are gearing up for conference championship weekend in the college ranks and Week 13 of the NFL slate. Then it’s time for bowl season in college and the playoff push in the pros.

Starting Friday with a thrilling Pac-12 Championship Game matchup between Washington and Oregon, there are some great title matchups across the board. Then in the NFL, there are some big-time games between teams vying for playoff position.

Every week, our DFS experts — Andrew Olson and Adam Spencer — make their top picks via Underdog Fantasy. Get in on the fun before kickoff on Friday night and tail or fade the picks outlined below!

Our College Football Championship Week Picks

Andrew Olson

Isaiah Bond, Alabama: Higher than 52.5 receiving yards

If Alabama is going to have a shot against Georgia, it needs to hit on some big plays in the passing game. With Jalen Milroe’s arm strength and mobility, I like Bond to snag a deep ball or two back home in the Peach State.

Quinn Ewers, Texas: Higher than 20.5 completions

Ewers leads all Big 12 quarterbacks with a 69.8 completion percentage. The Oklahoma State pass defense is in the top half of the conference, allowing just 58.7% completions. Ewers is a gamer who shows up on the big stage, and I like him to ball out as the Horns make their case for the CFP.

Keon Coleman, Florida State: Higher than 4.0 receptions

Coleman had just 1 catch in the regular-season finale at Florida. Tate Rodemaker favored Johnny Wilson against the Gators – and who can blame a backup quarterback targeting a wide receiver who towers over defenders at 6-7?

Coleman, though, is FSU’s biggest playmaker in the passing game. With the game in the less hostile environment of Charlotte, and another week of practice to develop chemistry, I like Coleman to be more involved against Louisville.

Adam Spencer

Bo Nix, Oregon: Higher than 322.5 passing yards

Bo Nix has thrown for more than 350 yards in each of his last 4 games, including 400+ yards twice in that span. He threw for 337 yards in Oregon’s loss at Washington on Oct. 14. In this neutral-site rematch, with Nix potentially looking to make a Heisman statement, I’d expect nothing less than 350 yards through the air for the Ducks.

Will Reichard, Alabama: Higher than 6.5 kicking points

I expect the SEC title game to be a high-scoring affair. Yes, both defenses are solid, but both of these offenses are elite, too. How does Reichard get to 7 kicking points? He could do it with a field goal and 4 extra points or 2 field goals and an extra point — it doesn’t matter. But expect Reichard to have a few opportunities to put points on the board in this game.

JJ McCarthy, Michigan: Lower than 23.5 pass attempts

McCarthy hasn’t attempted 24+ passes in any of his last 3 games, which happened to have been against 3 of the toughest teams the Wolverines have faced thus far. In what should be a defensive battle against Iowa, look for the Wolverines to pound the ball early and take the lead, then pound the ball late to run out the clock. McCarthy won’t need to do much in this one.

Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars: Higher than 42.5 receiving yards

For tight ends not named Kelce, it can be hard to know what to expect in terms of involvement. To no surprise, Engram’s outputs have been all over the place this season. It doesn’t get much more favorable, though, than Week 13’s matchup of the Cincinnati Bengals, a defense that struggles to defend tight ends. Time to trust the trends.

Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons: Higher than 58.5 rushing yards

In what has been an up-and-down rookie year, it feels like things are finally coming together for Robinson. Now comes an appealing matchup.

The Jets’ defense has been tagged for 100-plus rushing yards over Weeks 10-12. Robinson, meanwhile, posted 90-plus on each side of a bye during that same stretch. With the way Robinson’s touches and production are trending, this is one of the more appetizing lines.

Adam Spencer

CJ Stroud, Houston Texans: Higher than 263.5 passing yards

CJ Stroud has thrown for 300+ yards in 4-straight games. Denver has a pass defense that’s in the bottom half of the league. This game is in the dome in Houston rather than in cold, potentially snowy Denver. Is there something I’m missing here? I think Stroud throws for 300+ again.

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins: Higher than 22.5 completions

The Dolphins-Commanders game has the highest projected points total at 49.5. How will that game get there? By Tua Tagovailoa and Sam Howell throwing early and often. The Dolphins should come out firing in this one, and that means Tua should have 23+ completions fairly easily on Sunday.
