Dodgers vs. Rangers prediction: MLB odds, picks, best bets

It’s a battle between division leaders when the Los Angeles Dodgers visit the Texas Rangers in a marquee interleague matchup.

On the mound for the Dodgers will be Tony Gonsolin (5-3, 3.72 ERA), while Texas counters with lefty Andrew Heaney (6-6, 4.43 ERA).

Gonsolin is coming off a strong outing against the Mets when he allowed just one run over five innings.

However, Gonsolin was lit up in his four prior starts as he gave up four runs or more each time.

Dodgers vs. Rangers pick

(8:05 p.m. ET)

The Dodgers went just 1-3 in those games in which they allowed an average of 6.5 runs.

Heaney has been hit or miss over his last four starts.

The left-hander allowed no earned runs twice but a total of 13 runs in the other two outings.

Overall though, Heaney is a big reason why Texas is atop the AL West.

He’s given the Rangers quality innings and allowed three runs or fewer in 14 of 18 starts.

He should have success against a Dodgers offense that hits a meager .228 against left-handed pitching this season.

Betting on Baseball?

These two teams have combined for 113 wins, so we could be watching a World Series preview on Friday night but I’m siding with the home team.

Gonsolin hasn’t been in good form recently and I expect that to continue against one of the top offenses in baseball.

Our pick: Rangers moneyline (+100, FanDuel)
