The Texas Rangers and the Los Angeles Dodgers will meet in Arlington for their interleague series finale this Sunday from Globe Life Field. Los Angeles hounded Texas in game two and won big, 16-3.

Dodgers Betting Preview

Los Angeles moved to 57-40 after defeating Texas. The Dodgers put it on the Rangers to win their tenth out of twelve, and they’ll look to leave the Lone Star with a sweep Sunday. The Los Angeles offense is scoring 5.04 runs per game, while batting .248, with a .330 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.50 ERA, with a 1.28 WHIP. Freddie Freeman homered twice in the lopsided win on Saturday, and he leads the Dodgers in BA (.328) and hits (127), with 20 HR and 70 RBI. Mookie Betts plated two runs in the game one victory, and he leads the team in home runs (26), with 67 RBI. J.D. Martinez has brought in seven runs thru two matchups with Texas, and he leads LAD in RBI (73), with 24 homers. Max Muncy has produced a run in four straight games, and he’s up to 23 home runs and 59 RBI for the season.

Emmett Sheehan (3-0, 4.50 ERA, 25 Ks) will make the start for Los Angeles. The rookie righty reaped the benefits of run support in Baltimore last week, allowing four runs in five innings to the O’s, but he still managed to earn the winning decision. Each of Sheehan’s last two wins have come on the road, so while he’s had some luck there, he may need to be a hit sharper against an angry Texas team here.

Rangers Betting Preview

Texas moved to 58-41  after falling to Los Angeles. The Rangers have been humbled by the NL heavyweights after sweeping two tough AL clubs in Tampa and Cleveland, and they’ll attempt to regroup here in game three. The Texas offense is scoring 4.88 runs per game, while batting .272, with a .341 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.77 ERA, with a 1.20 WHIP. Corey Seager picked up an injury after homering against his former team in game one, and that will leave the Rangers without the AL’s leading batter at .350. Marcus Semien hit his 200th career homer last night in the first innings,  and he leads the team in hits (112) and runs (77), with splits of .272/14/60. Nathaniel Lowe has recorded a hit in eight of the last ten games, and he’s posting a line of .283/11/52. Adolis Garcia leads the Rangers in home runs (24) and RBI (80).

Martin Perez (7-3, 4.81 ERA, 60 Ks) will take the mound for Texas. The veteran left hander underwhelmed a bit in his return to action, walking four, and allowing three runs to Cleveland through five innings. Perez was pretty good in May and June, but he may wind up getting caught in the line of fire here, as Los Angeles has not come to play around this weekend. Perez’ lone start against the Angels did not go well, and he’ll look for different results versus the Dodgers this Sunday.

Los Angeles vs Texas Trends

LA Dodgers are 55-42 against the spread this season, with a 56-36-5 O/U record. Texas is 58-41 ATS this year, with a 51-40-8 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

The Rangers have been successfully outgunned in Texas, and the Dodgers simply look like too much for them right now. After being blitzed and outscored 27-8 through two contests, the motive will be there to keep up with and defeat Los Angeles, but can Texas mentally do it? It remains to be seen, and although this game may be pitched a certain way to try to slow things down, both sides should be able to find production at the plate again, and I like the total being surpassed a third straight time here. Take the Over for this interleague clash.
