Douglas Luiz helps genius punter win over £22k after incredible 4,436/1 eight-fold football accumulator

ONE genius punter scooped an incredible £22,176 over the weekend thanks to some incredible selections, and a little help from Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz!

The William Hill customer staked a fiver on eight football fixtures over Saturday and Sunday in both the Premier League and Scottish Premiership at colossal odds of 4,436/1.

Straightforward picks? No, not by a long shot.

Only ONE of this punter's picks were odds on, and that was Newcastle during their thumping 6-1 win over Tottenham at St James' Park.

The accumulator got off to a flyer when Fulham overcame Leeds at Craven Cottage, and Hearts thrashed Ross County 6-1 in Saturday's lunchtime kick offs.

Two down, six to go…

Leicester turned around a one-goal deficit to beat Wolves, while Crystal Palace and Everton played out a goalless draw in London.

At the same time, the bet was heading for disaster with Brentford beating Aston Villa heading into the final minutes.

Our punter needed a draw in that clash, and Douglas Luiz of all people stepped up to score the equaliser in the 88th-minute before Yoane Wissa had a 90th-minute goal disallowed for offside.

Phew.

There was absolutely no concern when West Ham and Newcastle both annihilated Bournemouth and Tottenham respectively, leaving one clash left to seal this monster win.

And it was the biggest price of all with Aberdeen at 24/5 to beat Rangers.

The hosts hadn't beaten Rangers in any of their last 14 attempts, but entered the clash on a six-game winning run against a perhaps unmotivated Rangers, who were unlikely to catch Celtic.

The cash out must have been tempting but this bettor held their nerve and were rewarded handsomely when Liam Scales scored an incredible opener.

Bojan Miovski netted a somewhat controversial second eight minutes later that was eventually given after a nervous VAR review.

William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: "It’s fair to say one of our customers went to sleep very happy after winning over £22k from just £5 over the weekend.

"Their £5 eight-fold on matches across the Premier League and Scottish Premiership was priced at 4,436/1 and after all the legs were successful, we ended up paying out £22,176.44."
